Anglo American Kumba’s Graduate (PIT) Internship Programme scheme is built according to its vision to be the world’s supplier of steel and iron ores. In this case, Anglo American Kumba is recruiting highly-talented potential interns in this maximum of 36-month internship programme to help it build and sustain its brand as a globalised mining company.
Those PIT interns will be relocated to the Sishen and Kolomela Mine training centre at the Northern Cape to participate in formal training programme according to the internship programme’s manual. Eventually, those interns will receive salaries in which amounts are based on their performance and Kumba Iron Ore Ltd.’s regulations.
Interested intern candidates should bear in mind that these PIT programme will only be available for the Industrial, Metallurgy, Civil, Mechanical, and other Mechanical-based qualifications that will allow candidates to sit in the GCC Examination. - Have a valid Code B (for light vehicles) Driver’s Licence
- Obtain a degree (preferably BTech) qualification in Industrial, Metallurgy, and/or Civil Technical-based majors
- Pass a GCC Examination on the Mechanical degree choice that includes on Electrical (heavy current) subjects
- Have limited (between 0-1 years) prior working experiences in the mining industry
- Know all about mining industries in general, its business processes, and technical skills required in the mining industries
- Demonstrate an adequate capability in the general administrative skills
- Possess strong capabilities of communicating, self and group planning, and negotiating on team situations as a part of interpersonal (or social) skills.
