SAFCOL (South African Forestry Companies Limited) Profile
The South African Forestry Company SOC Limited, or more commonly referred to as SAFCOL, is an establishment formed under the government agency that focuses on the local forestry industry. Despite being regarded as a public establishment, SAFCOL is still closely-knitted with the state, in which they work hand in hand as the establishment oversees all forest producing operations in the country. SAFCOL mainly deals with sawlog timbers, and the establishment has its own processing plants specifically used to manufacture sawlog. With approximately 5 000 staff under their wing, SAFCOL is constantly in need of newer human capital to contribute to the nation’s forestry field.

Asides generating profit and producing forestry products, SAFCOL aims to be a prominent agent of change when it comes to environmental sustainability. While the enterprises’s line of work largely deals with the manufacturing of forest products, SAFCOL makes sure that the establishment is able to reduce the amount of waste and the number of carbon footprints it takes to carry out their operations. Furthermore, SAFCOL is constantly researching for new methods to not just provide satisfaction towards their stakeholders, but to also uplift their local surrounding communities. The purpose behind this is to ensure that communities are able to prosper just as SAFCOL does, especially in its socio-economic growth.
